Internet, February 18, 2002 - World-famous internet artists Auriea Harvey and Michael Samyn, better known as Entropy8Zuper!, have launched Numbers, the fourth chapter in their ongoing series of interpretations/appropriations of the books of the Bible. In this chapter Harvey and Samyn have reached the ultimate perfection in their lush and daring style of highly emotional and at times embarrassingly personal web narratives.

The Bible book of Numbers is about the journey of the Israelites through the desert, away from slavery, towards the promised land. They are led by a god who, after killing a whole generation, ultimately instructs them to take the promised land by force. The cunning similarity between current events and this age-old story did not escape the artists' keen perception. The Entropy8Zuper! version of this story confronts personal issues of desire and guilt with cultural conflicts and economic and military violence.
In an immersive soundscape, Numbers will take you through the sands of the desert to the depths of a tropical oasis, where love itself will be sacrificed on the holy tabernacle. Under the supervision of the vengeful god of captialism, the age-old battle between Good and Evil will be fought and lost once again.

ABOUT ENTROPY8ZUPER!
Michael Samyn and Auriea Harvey have been working together as hypermedia researchers and web designers since 1999. They were the makers of Skinonskinonskin, the second hell.com event in 1999, and have received the SFMOMA Prize for Excellence in Online Art in 2000. Their work was featured in Net_condition, Art Entertainment Network, 010101: Art in Technological Times, Belgisch Atelier Belge, Make-World Festival and the Korea Web Art Festival 2001. Their clients include Virgin Records, PBS, ABC, Liftime TV, SFMOMA and the Museum of Sex.
